Should Ontario lengthen teachers' college education?

Ontario, Canada, should make teachers' college more rigorous, suggests John Milloy, the province's minister of training, colleges and universities. Teachers currently attend one year of college, and receive 40 days of in-class training. Some officials now are calling for the length of teachers' college education to be doubled. Others, however, have cited concerns about cost.
