Video podcasts replace welcome-back address for teachers

Educators in Green Bay, Wis., are being welcomed back to school this year with an online presentation from school leaders and district officials, rather than a traditional in-person address. Officials said the video podcasts are aimed at offering an alternative to crowded back-to-school meetings that may have required the rental of outside space. "Teachers have a lot to do at the start of the school year. We're using technology in a new way. We think it's going to be better," said Jean Marsch, school board president.
