EC approves Monsanto biotech rapeseed for EU import

Monsanto's GT73 biotech rapeseed has been cleared by the European Commission for use in animal feed in Europe for the next 10 years. The approval does not allow the company to market the rapeseed for cultivation or for human food within the EU. Monsanto's application could have been approved as early as last January, and the company has complained to the World Trade Organization about the delays in approval.
