McDonald's names new CMO as Light announces departure

Mary Dillon, president of Quaker Foods, a subsidiary of Pepsico, is resigning to take over as CMO for McDonald's, beginning Oct. 3. Chief global marketing officer Larry Light, architect of McDonald's "I'm Lovin' It" campaign, is resigning after a three-year stint with the restaurant chain. Restaurant industry analyst Peter Oakes told the Wall Street Journal, "It's easy to see he's OK with going out at the top of his game."
