Washington students' scores show mixed results

Washington students had mixed success on this year's state exams: Reading and math scores were generally on the upswing, compared with those of previous years, but low passing rates, particularly for 10th graders, remain a concern. Educators worry if present trends continue, thousands of current sophomores won't be able to pass the exam by 2008, when the test becomes a graduation requirement.
