Border agency delays enforcement of chemical-reporting rule

U.S. Customs and Border Protection has reportedly agreed to a 60-day delay in enforcing a rule mandating that exporters and carriers report the precise amount of residual chemicals that are inside portable tank containers. The rule was to take effect Sept. 16, but industry groups including the Canadian Trucking Alliance said they needed more time to prepare for the change.
