Credit company promises better services for people with disabilities

In an agreement with the office of the New York state attorney general, HSBC Card Services has promised to improve accessibility for customers with visual, hearing or other impairments. A New York customer with visual impairments filed a complaint after she was told she could dispute credit-card charges only in writing. HSBC promised alterations on its Web site and in customer-service practices to better help people with disabilities.
