Fate of Myanmar's rebels in China unknown

China imposed a formal media blackout on all news regarding the tens of thousands of Myanmarese ethnic rebels that fled across the Chinese border and began removing tents installed to house the refugees -- though the situation of the refugees remains unclear. Though some 4,000 refugees returned to Myanmar, that number has slowed dramatically, and many more cannot or will not return voluntarily. Some of those who fled Myanmar are Chinese nationals who were there working on dams and other projects.
