Social networks seek content to compete

MySpace's acquisition of iLike isn't going to reconfigure the social-media landscape, Vivian Yeo writes. Instead, networks need to increase their content offerings to lure more users. Partnerships with music and game providers may provide opportunities for growth, she notes, though some analysts are still skeptical the networks will be able to successfully monetize content.
