Wal-Mart goes up against Amazon with online marketplace

Wal-Mart Stores has added outside retailers to its online offerings, which could help the global retailer advance in the online arena. Burt Flickinger III, a retail consultant, said that as Wal-Mart has saturated the U.S. market, online sales can help the retailer grow. "This gives Wal-Mart a chance to close the widening gap with Amazon.com and Apple," Flickinger said.
