Agriculture is the one bright spot in the U.S. economy

Bolstered by increased exports, the U.S. agricultural sector is standing apart from the rest of the economy. The industry is strong, profitable and looking forward to more demand next year. Farmers are expected to have exported $107.5 billion in products in the year that ends Sept. 30, compared with a $115.3 billion record set in 2008. The Agriculture Department is expecting $113 billion in exports next year.
