Bayer CEO: W.Va. needs revamped tax structure, judicial reforms

West Virginia should enact tax and judicial reforms to encourage development and investments within the state, said Bayer CEO Greg Babe during a forum of state business leaders. Babe, whose company maintains three chemical facilities in the state, says that state taxes on equipment and inventory discourage businesses from expanding and investing capital for upgrades. Meanwhile, the state having no intermediate appeals court also affects growth in the manufacturing sector, Babe added.
