California biochemist takes new angle on Hep C cure search

A biochemist at the University of California, Merced, is taking an alternative approach to finding a cure for hepatitis C: by exploring how the virus leads to liver cancer. While the condition doesn't cause cancer in all cases, Jinah Choi believes oxidants in the affected cells may provide a doorway to improved treatment.
