California group offers rehabilitative care for abandoned horses

Feathers 'N' Fur Wildlife Rehab, a nonprofit group in Twentynine Palms, Calif., takes in and provides rehabilitative care for abandoned, starved and sick horses, which according to the Department of Agriculture have been on the rise. "Whenever there are large numbers of unwanted horses as there are today, there is always concern for the welfare of these horses," an AVMA member said.
