Combo of quantum dots, microneedles holds promise for cancer

Scientists at North Carolina State University said they were able to inject fluorescent quantum-dot dyes into the skin using polymer microneedles that were developed using a laser-based technique. Skin cancer and other chronic conditions could be diagnosed and treated by the technology, the lead researcher said.
