The differences between merchandising online and in-store

Online retail has evolved from a novel extension of the brick-and-mortar store to an important outlet in its own right, and along with the evolution has come confusion about how best to merchandise online, writes Maple Lake CEO Stuart Aldridge. Aldridge suggests a hybrid approach that may include retailers filling online orders directly from in-store inventories rather than more complex distribution systems.
