FDIC's list of endangered banks grows to 829

The list of banks in danger of failing compiled by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. grew to 829 during the second quarter, its highest level since 1993. Although the government added 53 banks to the list, it is the smallest rise since the first quarter of 2009, but almost double the 416 banks on the list a year ago.
