Health care credit cards are garnering more negative attention

More attention is being paid to fraud and deception linked to credit cards offered in providers' offices and clinics. In one example, a woman who holds Excellus BlueCross BlueShield and MetLife dental insurance applied for a credit card that her dental provider offered, with the goal of using it to pay for whatever her plan wouldn't cover. After struggling with a huge bill, she wasn't able to get the overcharge straightened out through the credit card company and ultimately had to work with state officials to address the problems.
