Stretching before running fails to prevent injuries

A study of runners found stretching before a workout neither prevented nor reduced injuries. One expert said that science supports a routine of a very easy warm-up, a gradual increase in intensity and then dynamic stretching, or exercises that increase the joints' range of motion through constant movement.
