Hoover Dam bypass bridge named 2011 national project of the year

The American Public Works Association has named the Hoover Dam bypass as its national transportation project of the year. The bypass bridge was completed on its original $240 million budget. The project is the longest and highest arched concrete bridge in the Western Hemisphere and includes the world's tallest precast concrete columns.
