Radioactive ash to be mixed with cement, buried in Japan

Ash produced by incinerating radioactive earthquake and tsunami debris should be solidified with cement and stored at waterproof underground disposal sites, says the Environment Ministry in Japan. Waterproof sheeting would be installed in order to prevent toxic ash from entering freshwater sources, and then the cement/ash mixture would be poured in. In some instances the mixture would be encased in concrete.
