Groups urge Schwarzenegger to veto California PFOA ban

The American Chemistry Council, along with the Chemical Industry Council of California and major chemical companies, are urging California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger to veto a bill near final passage by the state Legislature that would essentially ban perfluorooctanoic acid from use in food wrappers beginning in 2010. Chemical companies say PFOA is already well-regulated at the federal level; Schwarzenegger has not indicated whether he would sign the bill.
