Preserve secret ballot to protect small firms from unions

Secret ballots are a revered part of the democratic process and should be protected from labor efforts to change U.S. law on how unions can be organized, says Julia Ciarlo Hammond of the Virginia chapter of the National Federation of Independent Business. If the federal government makes it easier for unions to organize, then unions could be "shoved" down the throats of small businesses, which would be forced to evaluate whether they could grow, add jobs or stay in business.
