Preserve secret ballot; protect small firms from unions

Secret ballots are a revered part of the democratic process and should be protected from labor efforts to change U.S. law on how unions can be organized, says Julia Ciarlo Hammond, NFIB/Virginia. If the federal government makes it easier for unions to organize, then unions could be "shoved" down the throats of small businesses, which will be forced to evaluate whether they can grow, add jobs or stay in business.
