Obama: Government stepping up plan against H1N1 flu

The federal government is stepping up its coordinated plan against the pandemic flu, President Barack Obama said after a briefing by senior officials at the White House. The government has also employed "Sesame Street" characters to be part of a public service ad campaign that aims to raise awareness of the flu among children and parents. Meanwhile, New York City said it will provide free H1N1 flu vaccines to its schoolchildren in a bid to control the virus this fall.
