In praise of Google's transparency

Gmail users couldn't get to their inboxes for more than an hour Tuesday afternoon, but at least company officials later explained why, writes Ryan Singel. Google's transparency regarding its network troubles is an encouraging sign from a company that wants to sell cloud-computing services to enterprise users, he points out.
