Renewable energy for developing world could cost $600B yearly

The cost to implement renewable energy for developing nations could be up to $600 billion a year for 10 years, according to a United Nations report. "We need a public investment program to drive this shift into cleaner energy resources," said Rob Vos, the director of development policy in the Department of Economic and Social Affairs. The United Nations recommends establishing a global fund to address the issue, which could be created by a "global tax" on carbon emissions.
