Retailers simplify online shopping for consumers who cannot see

The National Federation of the Blind is working with Amazon, Target and other retailers to make their online sites easier to use for consumers who cannot see. Computer-products retailer Newegg recently became the first online retailer to earn the NFB's gold-level Nonvisual Accessibility Web Certification for its efforts. Anne Taylor, director of the NFB accessible-technology team, says the project disproves myths among retailers that accessible sites tend to be dull and expensive.
