Adult texting use shows a steady gain in adoption

Texting is gaining traction with U.S. adults with nearly three-quarters using the technology, according to a Pew Internet and American Life Project study, and averaging 10 texts daily, though about 4% of adults transmit more than 200 a day. When it comes to teens, about half of them send 50 or more texts each day, and one third send in excess of 100 messages daily.
