DSG says World Cup, iPad helped boost quarterly sales

DSG International reported a 3% increase in same-store sales in the 12 weeks through July 24. The consumer electronics retailer, which will soon be renamed Dixons Retail, said the introduction of Apple's iPad and the World Cup tournament in South Africa helped lift sales. The company has been striving to attract more consumers by refurbishing outlets, adding shop-in-shops and launching combined PC World and Currys stores.
