Lack of sleep is tied to higher risk of death, mental problems

A U.S. study found that men with chronic insomnia who slept for less than six hours per night had a fourfold higher risk of death over a 14-year period than those who got enough rest. A separate study in Australia showed that teenagers who regularly slept less than five hours a night were three times more likely to develop mental disorders compared to those who slept for eight to nine hours at night.
