No firm plans for Cleveland hub, Continental says

Continental Airlines says an internal memo showing its Cleveland hub shrinking by 84% following a merger with United Airlines was designed simply to show one of several scenarios for the airport. "Other simulations showed Cleveland maintaining its size and others showed it growing," CEO Jeff Smisek said in a statement. "This was never a plan for Cleveland or any of our hubs." The document emerged as part of a lawsuit by passengers seeking to block the merger.
