Texas applies for $38M grant to unsnarl Tower 55

Texas has requested $38 million in federal funding to help pay for its $93 million Tower 55 multimodal improvement project in Fort Worth. Union Pacific and Burlington Northern Santa Fe have together committed $51.2 million for the project. Tower 55 is one of the most congested rail intersections in the country. About 100 trains operated by UP and BNSF cross Tower 55 everyday.
