Veterinarian proposes equine sterilization to reduce unwanted horses

The number of malnourished and neglected horses has been on the rise, which can be attributed to the dwindling equine market and a federal ban on horse slaughter. A veterinarian with the University of Missouri is starting a program to sterilize horses, which she says might help solve the problem of unwanted horses.
