Aggressive raccoons likely have rabies, officials say

Two residents in Sacramento County, Calif., were attacked by raccoons while walking their dogs last week, prompting officials to warn residents not to feed their pets outdoors. Such attacks are uncharacteristic of raccoons, which makes it likely that the animals were infected with rabies, and state health officials have recommended treatment for both people who were attacked.
