Researchers develop blood test for quick disease detection

University of Toledo researchers have developed a blood-testing method that uses artificial molecules called aptamers to detect particular proteins in human blood samples. The test has the potential to help diagnose diseases such as cancer and diabetes in their early stages, according to the study published in Biomedical Optics Express.
