N.J. law aims to protect workers who share pay information

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie signed a bill last week that prohibits employers from punishing employees who discuss their pay or job titles with colleagues. "If the employees know they can ask each other about their salaries or benefits, they will discuss more freely these topics and discriminatory practices will be harder to hide," said Republican state Sen. Linda Greenstein.
