With no phones, what's left for Nokia?

Free of its handset business, Nokia will retain three divisions that interim CEO Risto Siilasmaa said will carry "a much stronger balance sheet." These include the Nokia Solutions and Networks telecom equipment unit, the Here location-based services division and an Advanced Technologies arm centered on sensor materials, cloud and Web technologies. "Nokia alone does not have the resources" to compete in the phone business increasingly dominated by Google's Android and Apple's iOS operating systems, Siilasmaa said.
