November trial date is scheduled for airline merger case

A Nov. 25 trial date has been set in a case to determine whether a proposed merger between American Airlines and US Airways Group will be able to go forward. "I'm going to set a schedule that enables both parties to get all of the information that you need to adequately prosecute or defend the case, but I'm going to do it on an expedited basis," explained U.S. District Judge Colleen Kollar-Kotelly. The government had proposed a March trial date in the case, while the airlines had suggested a November trial.
