Ohio school grades shed light on gifted education

Even though more than half of Ohio schools received grades of C or lower for performance of students who are gifted, some experts, such as Leanna Giesige, the gifted program coordinator for the Mid-Ohio Educational Service Center, based in Mansfield, say assigning such grades brings more attention to these students' unique needs. The state requires identification of students who are gifted but does not mandate programs for them.
