Ontario officials call for focus on teacher training in maths

While Ontario's students are making gains in reading and writing, test scores show a ongoing decline in maths, leading officials to call for a focus on teacher training in the subject. "The academic background of a lot of our elementary teachers is more in the arts -- they don't necessarily have an extensive background themselves in math and science," Education Minister Liz Sandals said.
