Plan aims for an economical round trip to Mars

An economical plan to put people on Mars and bring them back is beginning to generate some interest. The plan, devised by U.S. engineer Robert Zubrin, would involve two separate launches. The first would be an unmanned spacecraft, which would land on Mars and generate its own fuel to bring astronauts back to Earth after they arrive in the second craft.
