S. Korea's slower economy boosts c-store business

Sales are up at South Korea's convenience stores as a tighter economy prompts more shoppers to buy items on an as-needed basis instead of doing big shopping trips, analysts said. Convenience store sales rose 8.2% in July from the same month last year, while sales at major supermarkets Homeplus, E-mart and Lotte Mart fell 4.9%.
