Studies catalog genetic mutations linked to TB drug resistance

Two studies published in Nature Genetics catalog genetic mutations that lead to resistance to tuberculosis drugs, and researchers said the findings could help ensure patients are prescribed appropriate treatments. The study teams, from the Harvard School of Public Health and the Institute of Biophysics in Beijing, also found mutations that may influence other resistance genes.
