Wis. district's new school combines fourth-, fifth-grades

Fourth- and fifth-graders in Altoona, Wis., will be attending class in the first of the district's new Intermediate Schools. The classrooms have work stations, designed with collaborative, project-based learning in mind. Classrooms will have 24 students, comprised of both grades to boost social skills and promote leadership abilities. "It just gives them that sense of community," intermediate school teacher Sarah Pszeniczny said.
