Woodside wins support for use of Shell's LNG technology in Browse project

Australian oil company Woodside Petroleum said its partners Mitsubishi, BP and Royal Dutch Shell have approved the use of Shell's floating liquefied natural gas technology for the Browse gas plant project in Western Australia. Woodside previously said that offshore gas processing would cost 35% to 50% less than an onshore option. A Citigroup analyst estimates the cost of the offshore processing plant to reach $46 billion over the Browse project's lifespan.
