World's biggest pension funds post 9.8% gain in assets

The value of assets held by the world's 300 largest pension funds climbed by 9.8% last year, a dramatic improvement from 2011's growth of 1.9%, according to a survey by Pensions & Investments and Towers Watson. "It was a year in which taking risk paid off," said Carl Hess, global head of investments at Towers Watson.
