Florida solar center tapped by U.S. Department of Energy

The Florida Solar Energy Center will lead research for one of 12 teams tapped by the U.S. Department of Energy to improve solar efficiency. For the first phase of the project alone, the 15-member team could receive up to $2.9 million. Researchers are investigating how to make photovoltaic systems behave like conventional generators.
