Demand for CLOs, CDOs to repo with ECB drops sharply

Demand has declined in Europe for deals in which lenders use balance-sheet collateralised debt obligations and collateralised loan obligations for repo with the European Central Bank. The decline is because of doubts about possible changes to the ECB's eligibility criteria, a lack of assets to securitise and a change in motivation on the part of banks to create such deals.
