After six turbulent months of bankruptcy proceedings, a reconstituted Eclipse Aviation opened for business on Tuesday, aiming to eventually employ 500 workers producing hundreds of very light jets each year. Initially the company will focus on maintaining more than 250 Eclipse 500 jets already in service, a task analysts see as key to restoring confidence in the brand. "Their initial focus is going to have to be on satisfying the existing owners, and a lot will depend on that," says Doug Royce of Forecast International. "If they can't get that side of the business down, then they're not going to get the financing to restart production."
